China Declares High-level Flood Alert

(MENAFN) On Friday, China initiated its highest-grade emergency protocol for flooding in five regions as Typhoon Francisco approaches landfall.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources, moderate to intense precipitation is anticipated through Sunday across Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangxi, and Hunan provinces, escalating the threat of flooding in small and mid-sized waterways.

Regional officials have been ordered to vigilantly track the developments and implement all essential measures to counter potential flooding, the ministry said in a statement.

Two specialized teams have been dispatched to Zhejiang and Fujian to support and oversee regional flood management operations.
