Fatalities Increase as Monsoon Rains Hit Philippines
(MENAFN) The number of casualties caused by seasonal rains and successive storms in the Philippines has increased to 30, based on the situational bulletin released Saturday by the nation's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Authorities stated that "seven people remain missing," and "10 others were reported injured."
Close to 5.3 million residents have endured hardship due to the overlapping effects of the southwest monsoon and recent tropical systems.
The archipelago experienced the onslaught of three significant weather disturbances: "Severe Tropical Storm Wipha," "Tropical Storm Francisco," and "Typhoon Co-may."
