KKATC Cards Trademark Clears USPTO Opposition Period, Registration Finalizing Sept. 15
The trademark cleared its federal opposition period without challenge; a USPTO-side processing issue is delaying the certificate, not the registration itself.
Every portfolio tracker answers what something's worth right now. The question that actually matters is what you paid, how long you held it, and which tax outcome applies to you.”
BROOKLYN, NY, UNITED STATES, September 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The trademark "KKATC," behind KKATC Cards, has cleared the federal opposition period with the United States Patent and Trademark Office without a single challenge, clearing the way for formal registration. A USPTO-wide processing issue affected registration certificates issued September 8, 2026, including this one; the agency has confirmed affected cases will receive corrected certificates in the September 15, 2026 issue. The underlying approval is unaffected, only the certificate paperwork is being reissued.— Konstantin Koretskiy, Founder, KKATC Cards
The trademark milestone coincides with the latest release of KKATC Cards, the company's cost-basis and tax-tracking platform for sports card and TCG collectors and dealers.
The platform extends full support across all three tax classifications a card seller can fall into under IRS rules: dealers running cards as a business, investors holding cards as a capital asset, and collectors holding cards for personal use, each carrying materially different tax treatment. It now generates real financial statements and key performance metrics alongside its existing Schedule C and Schedule D workpaper exports.
The latest release also builds dedicated engines for how real sellers actually operate, not just single-card transactions. Breakers, who purchase sealed cases and sell individual slots to live-stream participants, get proper cost-basis allocation across every resulting card. High-volume resellers who move cards as lots or stacks get the same per-card cost allocation, rather than one blended cost across a group. On the entity side, the platform now supports partnerships and S corporations directly, including the K-1 allocation work multi-member businesses require.
Trades are now handled properly too, treated as two taxable events at fair market value, consistent with federal law since the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act eliminated tax-free exchange treatment for personal property. That same logic extends to FanCash, the rewards currency Fanatics Collect recently introduced as a seller payout option in place of cash: a card sold for FanCash is still a taxable sale at full value, tracked accordingly.
A new two-way eBay sync pulls purchase history (the trailing 60 days) and sales data directly into the platform, removing the need for a separate spreadsheet. Cards bought and sold on eBay now flow into the same cost-basis and classification engine as everything else in an account.
"Every portfolio tracker on the market answers what something is worth right now," said Konstantin Koretskiy, founder of KKATC Cards. "That's the easy half. What actually matters is what you paid, how long you held it, and which of three tax outcomes applies to you, whether you're a sole proprietor, a partnership, or an S-corp. This release is built around that half of the problem."
Tax-loss harvesting guidance is next on the roadmap, timed for the fourth quarter, when collectors and investors typically review holdings and realize losses ahead of year-end filing.
KKATC Cards offers two pricing paths. Collectors and investors pay a flat $29.99 per tax year, covering that year's full cost-basis tracking and Schedule D workpapers regardless of signup date. Those operating as a business pay $24.99 per month or $199.99 annually; new business-tier signups through the end of 2026 pay only for the remaining months of the year while still getting their entire 2026 tax year built out from January forward.
