Premier to Attend Canada’s First Investment Summit
CANADA, September 14 - Premier Tim Houston will join global investors, Canadian CEOs and public sector leaders in Toronto this week for the first Canada Investment Summit.
Designed to showcase Canada’s investment potential as part of a federal plan to attract $1 trillion in investment over five years, the two-day event starts today, September 14.
Nova Scotia will showcase 20 investment-ready projects, including Wind West, Melford International Terminal and Spaceport Nova Scotia, to potential investors.
“In the past, Nova Scotia and Canada put all of our eggs in one basket. We can’t do that anymore,” said Premier Houston. “We are more determined than ever to make Nova Scotia and Canada stronger by seizing the tremendous opportunities before us to build our economy and diversify to new trade markets. The world wants what Nova Scotia has to offer, and I’m looking forward to speaking to investors about the safe and responsible development of our resources to help protect family pocketbooks from a global affordability crisis.”
Hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in partnership with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Public Sector Pension Investment Board – two of Canada’s largest institutional investors – the summit will explore opportunities for economic growth and resilience.
Premier Houston will host a reception with investors interested in Nova Scotia energy, mining and infrastructure projects.
